GHATKOPAR BRANCH HISTORY :
The National Society for Clean Cities (NSCI) handed over its building at Pantnagar, Ghatkopar, constructed in May 1984 to YMCA for running a Bala Kendra and gymnasium as well as a stadium and playground. The project was inaugurated on September 12, 1985 by Keshub Mahendra. During their first year itself, YMCA ran the Balwadi, Night Study Centre, Health Care Centre and Gymnasium. |

CHEMBUR BRANCH HISTORY :
The Boys Recreation Centre at Gandhi Maidan at Chembur had been serving as a base for YMCA community outreach even before the Chembur branch was created in 1975. The branch was inaugurated on April 25, 1975.
Despite the enthusiasm of the members of the branch. It suffered for want of its own premises. Having failed to secure premises for the branch, by 1990 the chembur branch came to be merged with the Ghatkopar branch and was termed as Ghatkopar-Chembur branch.
