Brainwaves - the inter School Competition was conducted from 28th to 30th January 2008 at the Andheri YMCA. Competitions were held in Elocutions, Essay Writing, Story Telling, Story Writing in three languages - English, Hindi & Marathi. Other competitions conducted were Poster Painting, General Knowledge and Workshop on 'Power of Positive Thinking'. Around 600 children from 16 shcools from the suburbs participated. The Prize distribution function was held on 2nd February, 2008 where Dr. Stafford Cripps, Chairman, Andheri YMCA was the Chief Guest. The overall Team Championship was clinched by Udayachal High School, Vikhroli. The programme was financially supported by some Lions and Lioness clubs, Twitters Education Trust, State Bank of India and a few individuals. |

The half yearly Certificate Awarding function of the Andheri YMCA VTC was held on 8th February 2008. Mr. R. Ramana, Senior Transportation Planner, MMRDA was the Chief Guest. Students put up an impressive cultural programme which was well appreciated by the dignitaries present. Certificates and Prizes were awarded to all the successful who secured distinction in the Courses they completed. |

The Runners Up Bombay YMCA Team who participated in the Inter YMCA National Table Tennis Championship organised by Calcutta YMCA from 2 to 6 October 2007.
