Over 10 lakh children make the streets
of the city of Mumbai their home. Living on
the mean streets, struggling to eke out a living,
eating from the garbage dump, beaten and abused
by adults, these kids survive their lot.
Under
the Street Children Programme,
functioning from the Juhu Centre, the Bombay
YMCA caters to the needs of the street children.

The department provides
Night Shelter, Vocational Training,
Non-formal Training, counseling, medical facilities
and such facilities which the street
children do not otherwise receive.
